GETTING TO ZERMATT

Traveling to Zermatt is an unforgettable journey through the Swiss Alps. Since Zermatt is car-free, you’ll need to park in the nearby village of Täsch and take a short shuttle train to reach the resort. Alternatively, Swiss trains offer a direct and scenic route to Zermatt, with easy connections from major cities like Zurich and Geneva.

BY TRAIN

Switzerland’s train system is known for its efficiency and stunning routes, making train travel to Zermatt a fantastic option.

From Zurich: The train ride takes about 3.5 hours. You’ll change trains in Visp and then take the scenic route up to Zermatt.

From Geneva: The journey is also around 3.5 hours, with a transfer at Visp to the narrow-gauge cogwheel train to Zermatt.

Glacier Express: One of the most famous scenic trains in the world, which connects Zermatt with St. Moritz. The full journey takes around 8 hours, passing through valleys, over bridges, and alongside mountains.

Swiss trains are known for being punctual, comfortable, and providing magnificent views of the Alps. The leg between Visp and Zermatt offers panoramic windows to take in the mountain scenery and quaint alpine villages.

From Zurich: The drive takes about 3.5 hours (approximately 230 km). You’ll travel along the A1 and A9 highways, passing through picturesque towns and landscapes, including Lake Geneva and the Rhône Valley.

From Geneva: It’s about 3 hours (230 km), driving along the A9 motorway, with stunning views of vineyards, mountains, and rivers along the way.

Parking in Täsch: The road ends at Täsch, the last town before Zermatt (5 km away). Here, you’ll find large parking lots where you can leave your car. From Täsch, you can take a 12-minute shuttle train ride to Zermatt, which operates every 20 minutes, or a taxi straight to the hotel door.

Once you arrive at Zermatt train station, getting to Peaky Riders Hotel is easy with several options:

Walking: The hotel is located about a 10-minute walk from the train station. Simply head south on Bahnhofstrasse, the main street in Zermatt, and follow it for about 700 meters. You’ll enjoy the charming, pedestrian-only village atmosphere along the way.

Bus: There is a local electric bus service in Zermatt. You can take the Green or Red Line for 2 stops from the train station. The buses are environmentally friendly and run regularly through the day (not after 18:00).

Taxi: Zermatt offers electric taxis. You can pre-order a taxi online at www.taxigo.ch. It’s a convenient and fast way to get to the hotel with your luggage, especially if you prefer not to walk or wait for the bus.
